Family and friends

My goal with every portrait is not only to accurately depict physical likeness, but to capture the subject’s unique character and presence. This is what gives a portrait its depth and sets it apart from a simple photograph. To achieve this effect, I work exclusively from carefully selected photographs, which allow me to focus on details, proportions, and subtle nuances of expression. One main reference image is usually sufficient, though additional photographs are always welcome, as they provide a fuller understanding of facial features, expressions, and natural emotion.

Where to start?

Commissioning a portrait

Having a general vision for your portrait helps guide the creative process. This may include the desired size, medium, and composition — whether it’s a head-and-shoulders portrait, a full-face study, or a full-figure painting. I work with a wide range of formats and sizes and can adapt each commission to suit personal preferences or budget considerations. Portraits are typically created from high-quality photographs supplied by the client, although photography can also be arranged when needed.

What are the costs involved?

etting started is easy. Simply reach out through the website and share your ideas along with your chosen reference photographs. I create all portraits from photos, allowing the process to be relaxed, flexible, and convenient for you. From there, we’ll talk through the details together — the size, style, medium, and any special touches you have in mind. Whether by email or a friendly phone call, I’ll guide you through each step to ensure your portrait truly reflects the people (and pets) you care about.

Do you create portraits for families, couples, groups, and pets?

Absolutely. I’m delighted to create portraits for families, couples, and groups, capturing not just likeness but the connection between people. Family pets are very welcome too and can be beautifully included in couple or family portraits. Because portraits with multiple subjects require extra care and detail, pricing is adjusted accordingly to reflect the additional work involved.

How the portraits are created?

Your portrait can be created in a variety of mediums, depending on the style you love most. I work with watercolour, acrylics, black and coloured pencils, as well as digital painting. Each medium offers a different mood and character, and I’m happy to help you choose the one that best suits your vision.

How do we get started?

The first step is to reach out to me through my contact page and share your ideas. From there, we can have a thorough conversation to explore all the possibilities. If it's more convenient, we can schedule a phone call to discuss the commission in detail.

I look forward to hearing from you,

Ulianka
